  1. Hi, I want to download your 2006 collections, yet you only have 4 over there. Can you post the rest please?
And is there another location to download your torrents from? because the torrent links don’t work.
    Thanks

    1. Unfortunately we don’t have an archive of the older playlists anymore. Try a google search using this string “Indie/Rock Playlist: May (2006)” and you’ll likely find each one.

2020 update: All playlists are available to stream and download again!

          1. We plan to update them in the future with current download links, but that may still be quite a while.

          2. Hello. Are you still active? I’d like to complete my IRP collections but the older ones are no longer available anywhere. I’d very much appreciate it if you can help me. Thank you.

      1. I’m guessing that IRP started in May 2006? I didn’t find anything before that. I also can’t find November 2006. You guys used to have a database listing all the songs for all the playlists but I’ve noticed that the site is down. Do you still have it somewhere?

      2. Hello dearies! I loved your playlists back then, but life happened and I stopped downloading them like a decade ago. I’m now picking up where I left, and I’m incredibly grateful to you for these musicm lists.
Also, I noticed there is no November playlist in 2012 (haven’t checked anything newer than that yet). Would you be so awesome and upload it again? ^^
        Thank you in advance! <3

        1. Hello Mandula, unfortunately that’s a month we had to skip in 2012. Every IRP release is listed, anything missing was never released.

Happy to have you back and enjoying the playlists again!

  2. Okay, I know I’m about to be “that guy”, but this is bugging the crap out of me, so here we go. On your playlist from Nov. ’14, track 102 is listed as “Riding my bicycle” from Team Me. Except best I can tell, it’s not. I know I’m really late on this, and “who cares”, right? But whatever this song is, I fekkin’ love it and want to know what it is. But best I could figure out, “Riding my bicycle” is a different song, one of the band’s 2011 debut. They did release an LP before they split in 2015, so I think the band may be right. The vocalist sure sounds similar. But none of the songs on the band’s YouTube list are the one you guys put on your playlist that month. Help! I HATE not knowing what a track is!

    1. It’s Team Me. They recorded two versions for two separate album releases.
Riding My Bicycle appeared on To The Treetops, and it’s not the song that’s on the 2014 playlist
the song on Nov. 2014 playlist is Riding My Bicylcle (from Feddersensgate to Møllerveien) from Blind As Night

    1. I know, they’re a little tricky to find these days, but we’re trying to replenish them as quickly as possible.

  3. Hi there, just wanted to say, that since I’ve found this site of Indie Rock music , I have a lot of music, that has become to be the one I’m listening pretty much. Thank you guys ! Oh and by the way – I saw that there’s IRP of December 2016 , but direct download link isn’t active. Can you guys may fix that? That would be great. Thanks a lot already for the music you’ve been posting here. Blessings.

    1. We’re looking at a probable June release.
There are thousands of songs we already have and thousands more to be released before June that still must be reviewed.

  4. Hello! Before the lists were often, now since March …… I love these selections and I wondered if they were more frequent. Congratulations on your work and the rhythm does not stop!.Thanks!

    1. The playlists are a much more elaborate process now.
The next one should be ready by mid-July.

      Thanks for stopping by!

      1. you said it’s coming early-mid July
        July is nearly finished 🙁
you don’t owe anyone anything… just curious and eager..

  5. To you, guys, thanks.

To all the other guys like me, does someone have EVERYTHING by this site? I think I only managed to import 12 compilations on my Mega. I’d love to collect everything.

          1. Thanks for looking into it, I can also add that most of the 2019 comps display as empty folders on MEGA, and March 2019 displays only one track…

    1. It’s coming, albeit a bit later than the torrent release.
Our priority is torrent -> streaming options -> direct download

    1. Direct Download isn’t up yet. For now you can grab October via torrent or stream on Spotify or 8tracks.
Mega and YouTube will come when possible.

  6. I’ve learned of so many amazing bands because of these fantastic playlists. I’ve been uploading a bunch of my old music and am stoked that I still have a bunch of the old playlists. Glad to see this is still going on <3

  7. I didn’t know this site existed. I had been downloading torrents on and off since October 2006, but I had been going to pirate bay directly and having to sift through all the others, which frankly are very hit and miss.
    Now I’m here!
It’s amazing what you’ve done, and incredibly nostalgic for me as well, since it’s been a long time since I sat down with the tracks from 10 years ago.
Thank you for all you do.
Is there a place to donate?

PS I do shitty ukulele covers on my blog, please check it out sometime 🙂

    1. Thanks for the wonderful feedback! We love to hear from fans that have been around since the beginning.
So sorry you had to weed through what’s available on piratebay, as there’s little quality control there.

We’ll certainly check out your Ukulele covers, do you take requests?

Also, we’ve never accepted donations. I’m sure you already buy music from the bands on the playlist, which is enough for us.

  8. Hi. Really love the playlists since 2008 and look forward to them.
I know it must be hard to get them up and running but any idea when a new one will appear, just to save me checking every few days

    1. We have a member-made March Vol. 3 playlist coming out today, then June’s playlist will be out within the next few days!

  9. Great…just discovered March Vol 3, half way in and sounds fab. And June’s up too!! Very happy…..thank you so much.

  10. I have been looking for The Feeling’s cover of She’s Gone by Hall & Oates for years. I first found it on the November 2008 playlist years ago. I have never been able to find that cover anywhere else. If anyone can help me find it or a download link for the november 2008 playlist, that would be awesome!

  11. I recently retired and I travel every 3 months. Getting a new soundtrack for each vacation is almost a good as the vacation!

Keep on rockin’ in the free world, Baby!
    {;o)~

  12. Hail Mary here – I’m looking for a song, would have been on a playlist before 2009. It was a spoken word song, and I think had the phrase “like my father did” or similar…also something to do with football, and just memories in general. If anyone could help me I’d greatly appreciate it. Love the site, glad it’s still around.

  13. Thank you for the playlist. I’ve tried making a few playlist and it is no easy task. You guys did great! Thank you again for sharing good music. Love & Peace.

  14. Hi. Actually I want to thank you! I don’t have enough time to listen to all musics so I trust your ears and your tastes..
    Best regards,

    1. We developed a new time dilation technology that allows us to squeeze 96 hours into each of earth’s rotations. That is how we get through the over 20,000 songs that we check between each playlist.
We appreciate your trust in us, and we’ll continue to dilate time until we finally break quantum physics and general relativity.

  15. For those asking when the next playlist is due, it’s scheduled for a mid-October release. It may come sooner or later than that, but it’s coming as quickly as we can – guaranteed!

Join the Facebook group if you’d like to vote on the October coverart – we have over 20 potential covers this year.

  16. I downloaded the playlist of July 2015 DLC 1 but it does not open because it is compressed and I need the password who can provide it to me? Thank you

    1. Both passwords are provided here on the site. Scroll down to the DLC part of July 2015 and you’ll find these two passwords.
There was a puzzle to solve, but we decided to simply give the password out after several requests.

      DLC 1
      Password: Everything Everything

      DLC 2
Password: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin

    1. We’re working on bringing back some dead/removed links. Torrent options are always available somewhere, same with streaming.

    1. We’re constantly working to restore the older playlists. For now, you can find many of them with a Google search – they still have seeds.

  17. Hullooo Criz…

Any chance we can get torrent links on archive updated from the now defunct KAT.to? Lost my music drive & trying to replace my collection.

Many thanks for what you do.

    1. We’ll work on updating defunct links after the March 19 playlist. They go defunct so frequently, it’s difficult to keep up with them.

  18. Thank you for keeping these torrents alive all these years. Thank you to all the seeders.

Very nice playlists, and thank you for all the uploads!

  19. One request:

Could you create and share magnet links for these old torrents? You can use any free, open-source client (like deluge or Transmission) to create these.

Then we would not have to worry about any links, file downloads, websites and torrents going dead! Here is a list of best trackers to include when you create any fresh torrents:

    https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist

    https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist/blob/master/trackers_best.txt

I am sure most of us would be happy to share our upload bandwidth and keep these amazing playlists alive for future generations to enjoy. Timeless music.

    Thank you.

  20. Having fun going through the old playliststs from 2006 as I only discovered you in 2008 when I moved out after a divorce and had more time to devote to my first love…. MUSIC!!

  21. Every time when you upload another playlist, you make me very very happy. Always great quality, full with undiscovered gems, bands I never heard of and tracks I never have heard before. From all the music I listen to, the IRP are the ones that are played over and over again. I’ve tried other playlists but your playlists always stand out. Your taste in music exactly matches mine. Many thanks, keep on making them!!!

  22. Thank you for providing the soundtrack to my life for the past 12+ years, your playlists have gotten me through A LOT. I see music I listened to when I was lonely and scared, music I listened to when newly married and care free, music I cherished through pregnancy, music that kept me sane during new motherhood, music my kids now love.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

    1. You’re welcome, and thanks for staying with us through everything. We’re happy to be a part of it.

  23. Could you ignore my previous post? If you haven’t yet. I never noticed the tags below the posts. Ugh. Thanks.

  24. We’re still working on restoring the Mega links for every older playlist, as well as streaming links. Please bear with us, and be very careful about downloading from sites that we don’t link to. Torrent sites sometimes go down and get replaced with something completely different.
We try to stay on top of our hyperlinks, but with so many it can be difficult to manage. Notify us if a link is down or takes you to a different site than what was linked – it will be fixed promptly.

  25. Update: Mega has been restored.
We’re currently working on Spotify support for older playlists
The next monthly playlist will be out in September 2021
There’s also going to be a Best of 20-21 and Best of IRP 06-21 around the end of the year, or early 2022.
If you’d like to share your all-time favorites from IRP or just indie gems from the last 15 years, you can post them in the IRP Facebook Group thread

  26. 2021 is running out… will there be a Dec 21 list? Usually a Best Of list comes out. I make my own Beat Of list so not too interested in anything but a monthly list. I have every IRP list that has been released. If have my own Best Of 06-21. Been working on it for years… Currently 814 songs. Looking to wrap up the year with a Dec 21 list. Is it coming? Thanks.

  27. Usually use the mega link for the zip file, but it’s saying it’s a RAR file. What do I do for this?
    Thanks

  28. Hey. There seems to be a password necessary for INDIE/ROCK PLAYLIST: DECEMBER (2022).
    Any help?
Been appreciating your playlists for years. Tank you

    1. We won’t directly reveal the password, but we’re certain longtime IRP fans will already know it.

      1. I don’t get it. Been downloading your playlists for a very long time and…. If this is a riddle I’m afraid I’m none the wiser.
Maybe a pointer to how you find it or work it out?
Is it on an faq? Or is it in a song or something?

    1. We’d love to send something like that out for free! As of right now, we don’t have a supply of 128GB USB sticks to share 🙁
You should be able to get most, if not all of them from Mega though.

  29. esta muy muy buena las listas me encantaría oírlas todas. mi condición no me permite salir de casa, trabajo en casa y tengo todo el tiempo del mundo para oir buena musica gracias. me ayudarian con el pasword?

  30. Hello IRP,

I know irp since 2006, at this time i was 16 years old. I am now 33 years old and a lot of bands i discovered on the irp i still listen to this date. Elefant, boy kill boy, White lies, The killers, glasvegas, the wombats, two door cinema club and tokyo police club are a few of my favorites.

I am very happy for this playlist since 2006.

But i saw that there is only 1 playlist for 2023.

Do you have stopped with irp?

  31. We’re very happy to have such a long-time fan, thank you for continuing to listen to IRP for over a decade.

The playlist continues, and we have one coming up very soon!

    1. Very sorry for the sudden change, but we can’t host such links on this website anymore. You may be able to find it elsewhere, but it’s no longer officially coming from us.

      1. This is a crying shame 🙁 It’s been a fantastic source for downloads since I first started following the Indie Rock Playlist in 2011. I have made my own extensive compliation of my favourite tracks across those 12 years, alas, all good things must come to an end. It’s been emotional, thank you…

        1. Agreed! These lists are literally the best out there and I have been downloading for about the same amount of time. Wish there was a way to download still.

  32. Hi,

Just wanted to drop a BIG thanks to the enormous impact you had on my life! I was 15 in 2006 and stumbled on your playlists by accident through some torrent website at the time. Some of the bands that I found through your playlist I still listen to and you ignited my hunger for new and interesting music!

Lost track of your playlists around 2012, and just rediscovered it! Got some catching up to do! Thanks again!
